WKMS began a project like St. Louis Public Radio's Sonic ID map, where reporters collect interesting things people in the region are doing. The idea is to gather snippets that reveal some of the region's culture.

A group of my friends would regularly meet for a night of Catan. It's a strategy board game that involves trading and sometimes shouting "Sheep for Wood! Sheep for Wood!" I knew it would be a great place to try out my first Sonic ID, so I went for it.

WKMS hasn't yet launched its Sonic ID map, but above is an example of the project's aim.
