The Suiters have generations of Racer fans and a history of opening up their home to the basketball players. Gearl, who died in the summer before the 2013-14 season began, would come to practices and fly out of state for all the away games. Or at least he did as long as he was able.

The story was a partnership with Murray State University in the week leading up to the team's tournament. During that time, this story was the most read of all the #racertradition posts.
